“Volunteering Contributes to Development Work”

Who is GYT Zambia?
GoYeTherefore (GYT) is a community based organization in Zambia, with registration number ORS/102/53/258. We aim at carrying out appropriate community projects according to focus areas (Education, Water & Sanitation, Sustainable Livelihoods & poverty elimination, Women Empowerment, and Health). The organization was founded in 2011 and formerly registered on 17th January 2013 after realising the development gaps and needs in the above focus areas.

We are excited to offer exciting yet safe developmental placements according to the above focus areas. The volunteers shall be required to select area of their interest or passion or experience where they shall contribute to such areas in partnership with communities and GYT partners, locally. Each volunteer’s program shall be derived, structured and finalised before the volunteer is placed.

Why Volunteer with Us?
Volunteers shall have an opportunity to come to Zambia in Southern Africa, gain valuable experience in work and life-wise both in the project field and office environment. It is an exciting opportunity to contribute to development in the most poor and needy areas of Zambia especially Peri-Urban and rural areas. During their free times they can visit our tourist attraction sites. Therefore, they shall learn about local history and culture.

Volunteer Placement:
Currently the placements are under our education program which is running year round. The need in access to education in Zambia is high and hence we need teams of teachers, psychologists, counsellors, social workers, etc to help in reducing this big need especially in the peri-urban and rural areas of Livingstone District.

Volunteer Work:
Detailed work requirements shall be derived and communicated to the volunteer before they come to Zambia. Generally, the Education work shall be in primary schools, Community Schools, Secondary schools, GYT Academy (Preschool) as well as Home based Education System.
